Only app I have ever tried to download and it wont.
Only app I have ever tried to download and it wont.
While the videos are useable, the manual is not. No way to zoom in on the pages in the manual, making the text unreadable.
I downloaded the app two days ago and while I loved most of it, I noticed that you couldnt zoom in on the owners manual, which effectively made it useless. I called VW customer service and reported the issue. Less than 48 hours later, during a holiday weekend, a new version correcting this defect was released. That is very responsive.
When I put my VIN in for my TDI it pulls up only information for gas models! VW went as far as to remove the diesel stuff from the owners manual in this app... At least I still have my paper owners manual despite its very obvious typos
Doesnt consider (xxx) xxx-xxxx a valid phone number. Cant continue without a valid phone number.
Where is the Sharan???
When will you update the app for the 2015 Golf R?
Needs a little improvement, though. When going to a specific Owners Manual, items from it are merely PDFs. It would be nice if the app would allow them to be read in landscape mode, making them much easier to read on the iPhone.
Dont bother downloading unless your car is 3 years old or newer.
Its hard to express how profoundly disappointed I am with this app. I have a new Beetle and, as my first new car for several years, I was know how it works and take care of it, but I never saw a thing in the app because to view documents you have to put in a correct VIN -- which I thought I did, many, many times! Long after most users would have abandoned this thing, I retried typing in the complicated ID number 7 or 8 times. After giving it a rest for a week, then I went to the trouble of downloading one of those VIN scanners to make sure it was in the right format. Still nothing. Dont get this app until you see it reported here that you can do something with it.
There is no sound on any of the videos.
Each manual could just be a PDF downloaded from VWs owner website. This app is a solution in search of a problem :-/
Expected of VW, why support old models that still get services regularly at their dealerships?
It wont accept my VIN number, painfully typed on an iPhone, whether I use upper or lower case letters. Fail.
Will not accept VIN for my 2015 Touareg that is supposedly a supported model. And content cannot be viewed without VIN. Totally useless app.
As many others have reported, this app is dependent on entering the VIN for your vehicle however Ive correctly entered the VIN for my 2016 Touareg TDI Lux and it keeps giving me an error saying incorrect VIN, please enter a valid VIN. I suspect someone at VW was tasked with developing an app for the sole purpose of having an app without any thought around it actually being useful. Ironic since VW touts their attention to every little detail, this seems to be consistent with the lack of detail resulting in a 60k car without USB ports, seriously??? Disappointing.
I have a 2015 Passat TDI SEL and found that some of the videos provided info that I wasnt aware of, especially the one on the DSG transmission. Like others, I am not impressed with how the users manual is presented. I mentioned the model and year in response to posters that the app doesnt work for recent models. I entered the VIN, and the app opened immediately.
No sound on the videos. Cant see manuals without typing in your VIN - Really???? Oh and after going out to my car to get the VIN, the app rejected it. Luckily the paper manual was in the car so I just grabbed that. To sum up - No UX here.
Its worthless since it wont recognize my VIN for brand new Beetle convertible
2016 Tiguan S. It will not recognize my VIN as valid. Useful info but theres stuff that doesnt apply to my vehicle that I figured knowing the VIN would filter out. Disappointing.
